Simple Cavemen set list: Nov. 12, Yalaha Bakery

It was a lovely fall afternoon at Yalaha Bakery in rural Lake County. The guys in the band celebrated a speed-limit birthday for drummer MacGyver — and discovered that the next-door Blue Bayou general store now sells moonshine.

That news will certainly come back to haunt us. Here’s what we played (with assistance at a few points by guest guitarist Jack Bove):

Set 1: Friend of the Devil (Grateful Dead cover); Horizon Moon; You Can’t Always Get What You Want (Rolling Stones cover); Who Do You Believe In Now?; Jukebox Serenade; Broken; T-Bone Shuffle (T-Bone Walker cover, with Jack Bove); Watchin’ the River Flow (Bob Dylan cover, with Jack Bove); I Dream.

Set 2: For What It’s Worth (Buffalo Springfield cover, with Jack Bove); Compilation Blues (with Jack Bove); Come On, Come On; Texas Wind; When I Look Into Your Eyes; Safe Inside the Mirror; When I Write the Book (Nick Lowe cover); One Less Gamblin’ Man; Get Together (Youngbloods cover, with Jack Bove).

Set 3: I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight (Bob Dylan cover, by request); Me and My Uncle (John Phillips cover, with Jack Bove); The Samosa Girls; Walls (Tom Petty cover); You Ain’t Going Nowhere (Bob Dylan cover); Hold Me Tight; To Love Somebody (Bee Gees cover); Mr. Bojangles (Jerry Jeff Walker cover, by request); Dead Flowers (Rolling Stones cover, with Jack Bove).
