Another terrific fall afternoon in the courtyard at Yalaha Bakery. It was the full lineup on Saturday, although MacGyver was unable to sing because he was fighting a bad cold.
(We were very happy to have his time-keeping in the mix, at least!)
A few old favorites on the list including the Know You Rider/Big River combo and “Bertha,” a song that is really firing on all cylinders lately. Tie-Dye and his wah-wah pedal continued to be an inspired combination.
The band returns to the bakery on Saturday, Dec. 15. Also, a late calendar addition: Jimmy Carl will be playing solo at the bakery from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25!
Here’s what we played:
Set 1. I Know You Rider (Grateful Dead cover); Big River (Johnny Cash cover); Marlena; Safe Inside the Mirror; One Less Gamblin’ Man; Compilation Blues; Sisters and Brothers (Charles Johnson cover); American Girl (Tom Petty cover).
Set 2. Bertha (Grateful Dead cover); She’s Gone; Hound Dog (Big Mama Thornton cover); Samosa Girls; You Got Me Running (Jimmy Reed cover); I Shall Be Released (Bob Dylan cover); Who Do You Believe in Now?; Canyon Full of Tears; Disaster.
