It was a utilitarian two-piece lineup for the Simple Cavemen, with Jimmy Carl and Tie-dye on the bandstand on Saturday at Yalaha Bakery.
The guys were welcomed enthusiastically by a big crowd that included birthday-girl Harriet, who was serenaded with “Happy Birthday” (natch) on her special day. It was very nice to meet Harriet and her friends, as well as all the other nice folks who were so engaged with the music.
It was a beautiful fall afternoon at the bakery, which remains one of the area’s quiet gems. We recommend a visit, perhaps on Dec. 14 when the band returns at full strength.
