Simple Cavemen set list: April 29, Yalaha Bakery

It was a three-piece unit, without drums and bass, on a lovely afternoon on Sunday at Yalaha Bakery.

The band was pleased to see the good friends that arrived to support, including a contingent representing Walt Disney World Watercraft and loyalists from DeLand, accompanied by their fabulous greyhound, King.

Turns out he’s a big fan.

In the smaller configuration, the band offered a few new twists on the set list, ranging from George Harrison’s “Isn’t It a Pity?” to the canine-inspired “Roll On, Lucy,” dedicated to the remarkable pug of the same name.

A good time. We return to the bakery on Saturday, May 12.

Here’s what we played:

Set 1. Friend of the Devil (Grateful Dead cover); She’s Gone; I Second That Emotion (Smokey Robinson & the Miracles cover); Elias Mine; I Dream; Samosa Girls; Long Black Veil (Lefty Frizzell cover); Horizon Moon; Promised Land (Chuck Berry cover).

What a fab St. Patrick’s Day celebration in the courtyard at Yalaha Bakery!

Lots of green fashion statements in the crowd. A cute grandbaby sighting! New friends! Old friends! Even a former Caveman (not too many of those in circulation!) came out to see the band.
