After a summer hiatus, the Simple Cavemen reconvened at Yalaha Bakery to celebrate the departure of Hurricane Dorian and the prospect of fall.
It was a four-piece, with drummer MacGyver unavailable, so the band was perhaps 20 percent simpler, if you can imagine. We missed him and welcome his return when the band is back at the bakery on Sept. 21.
Yalaha Bakery is a Central Florida gem and a wonderful place to play. We’re grateful for the opportunity.
Here’s the list:
Set 1. Friend of the Devil (Grateful Dead cover); The Weight (The Band cover); Samosa Girls; One Last Gamblin’ Man; You Got Me Runnin’ (Jimmy Reed cover); Marlena; Sisters and Brothers (Charles Johnson cover); Isn’t It a Pity (George Harrison cover).

Yes, it was Woodstock day for Jimmy Carl at Yalaha Bakery, with plenty of songs tied to the festival’s 50th anniversary. Like the original Woodstock, there were a few challenges from the elements and also A LOT of love and positive vibes from the folks in the courtyard.
This was Jimmy Carl’s final solo slot for the summer and he has enjoyed the experience immensely. As always, many thanks to Anne Marie and Juergen Klumb for the many opportunities. Yalaha Bakery is one of the area’s quiet gems.
The Simple Cavemen are slated to return to the bakery on Sept. 8, so put that on the calendar!
