After a summer in the studio working on the upcoming album, the Simple Cavemen are delighted to return this weekend to the Yalaha Bakery in lovely Lake County. We’ll be playing our own songs and an assortment of old favorites from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, in the courtyard, where it’s always free admission. And we know what you’re thinking, but we’re betting that the rain will hold off until we’re done. Come join us if you can.
The Cavemen are going to try to do better at updating the blog, so let’s begin with a look at the set list for Sunday’s raindrop-dodging performance at the Fall Kick-off Festival at Willow Creek Church:
I Know You Rider (Grateful Dead cover)/ She’s Gone/ Hound Dog (Leiber & Stoller cover)/ I Dream/ Fortune Teller (Allen Toussaint cover)/ One Less Gamblin’ Man/ Texas Wind/ Big Boss Man (Jimmy Reed cover)/ Sisters and Brothers (Charles Johnson/Jerry Garcia Band cover)/ Get Together (Youngbloods cover).
Encore: To Love Somebody (Bee Gees cover)/ Jukebox Serenade/ Rubies in my Crown/ Stand By Me (Ben E. King cover)/ Will the Circle Be Unbroken (Carter Family cover).
