Simple Cavemen set list: Dec. 19, Yalaha Bakery

Roscoe Gray endured a pretty bad cold to join the band on a chilly, but otherwise beautiful afternoon at Yalaha Bakery. After dipping deep into covers last time, the Cavemen played a few more songs from the upcoming album today. The band did return to an old Stones favorite in honor of Keith Richards’ 72nd birthday this week.

Also, Jimmy Carl strummed ukulele for the first time on the Cavemen staple “Marlena.” He might try it again sometime.

Here’s what we played:

Set 1: Friend of the Devil (Grateful Dead cover); The Weight (The Band cover); I Dream; Marlena; Texas Wind; You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere (Bob Dylan cover); Big Boss Man (Jimmy Reed cover); Horizon Moon; You Can’t Always Get What You Want (Rolling Stones cover).

Set 2: I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight (Bob Dylan cover, by request); Watching the River Flow (Bob Dylan cover); Who Do You Believe In Now; He’ll Have to Go (Jim Reeves cover); Compilation Blues; Elias Mine; Jukebox Serenade; Safe Inside the Mirror.

Set 3: Come on, Come on; You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away (Beatles cover); Walls (Tom Petty cover); Willin’ (Little Feat cover); Jackson County; To Love Somebody (Bee Gees cover); Get Together (Youngbloods cover).
