Simple Cavemen set list: Stardust Video & Coffee, Aug. 18

Humble apologies for taking so long to post this set list from the Simple Cavemen’s Aug. 18 show at Stardust Video & Coffee.

Many, many thanks go out to a lot of folks, including Brett Bennett and his terrific Stardust staff, as well as all the friends, family and Cavemen loyalists who made the night so special for the band with your presence.

Also, a big tip-of-the-hat to Cavemen alum Steve Jackson, who joined us on bass for the two-fer of “Like a Rolling Stone” and “American Girl.” Also, a big thanks to young Jack Bove for adding fine electric guitar to a handful of songs.

We heard from several folks that they’d like to see us at Stardust more often, so we’re going to try to plan another show before year’s end. Meantime, you can catch the Simple Cavemen on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Yalaha Bakery in lovely Lake County.

Thanks again!

Jimmy Carl set list: July 28, Yalaha Bakery

Another very nice afternoon at Yalaha Bakery! Thanks much to Anne Marie Klumb and the staff for always making all the Cavemen feel so welcome. Thanks also to the band for use of the blog space to record Jimmy Carl’s solo sets for posterity.

A wide range of covers today in three sets that also marked a return to old favorites by Bob Dylan and the Fab Four. For that influence, a big thanks to Jimmy Carl’s former Sentinel colleague and podmate Betsey Maupin and her husband, Jay Yellen, big fans of Bob and the Beatles. It was a delightful surprise to see you all!
