Simple Cavemen set list: Stardust Video & Coffee, Aug. 18

Humble apologies for taking so long to post this set list from the Simple Cavemen’s Aug. 18 show at Stardust Video & Coffee.

Many, many thanks go out to a lot of folks, including Brett Bennett and his terrific Stardust staff, as well as all the friends, family and Cavemen loyalists who made the night so special for the band with your presence.

Also, a big tip-of-the-hat to Cavemen alum Steve Jackson, who joined us on bass for the two-fer of “Like a Rolling Stone” and “American Girl.” Also, a big thanks to young Jack Bove for adding fine electric guitar to a handful of songs.

We heard from several folks that they’d like to see us at Stardust more often, so we’re going to try to plan another show before year’s end. Meantime, you can catch the Simple Cavemen on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Yalaha Bakery in lovely Lake County.

Thanks again!

Simple Cavemen: First of December Tour!

We’re calling it the First of December Tour because, well, the band is doing three shows in ONE DAY!

What? You’re not supposed to do it that way? Well, we’re new at this touring thing.

Here’s where you can watch those dreamy Cavemen on the First of December Tour, which, coincidentally, unfolds on Saturday, Dec. 1.

First, the band returns to the fabulous Yalaha Bakery for another afternoon of porch music from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for our fans in Lake County and beyond. Enjoy a scenic day trip to Yalaha for a bratwurst, a beer and the Simple Cavemen. We’d love to see you.

That same afternoon, at 5 p.m., the Cavemen are slated for a 45-minute set on the outdoor stage at the December Jambando at Plaza Live (The Plaza Theatre), 425 N. Bumby Ave., Orlando.

This edition of Jambando — “What Wouldstock Jambando ’79 — imagines what the Woodstock festival might have been like in 1979.  We’ll be offering nods to that theme in our set, along with a few of our own songs. Admission: $10 at the door, which includes performances by an array of Orlando’s most highly regarded acts.

The third show? It’s a private corporate gig that evening, so we’ll have to re-cap that one later — after we recover from the perils of the road that so many rock stars have complained about so eloquently. We look forward to doing the same.
